Special Education Needs - SEN

“It shouldn’t matter how slowly some children learn, as long as we are not encouraging them to stop.” Robert John Meehan

Vidsan Charterhouse recognises that a child’s physical, emotional and intellectual growth and development occurs at a different age and stage. We believe that young children at different stages of development can thrive in an environment that promotes inclusion and empathy.

Our SEN Department provides support to underachievers or slow learners, and pupils with learning disabilities like Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The statutes of SEN practices include

1. Determining:

  1. communicating and interacting with pupils
  2. identifying social, emotional, cognitive and learning difficulties

2. Processing

  1. collaboratively working towards a child-centric development
  2. implement strategic teaching plans as per individual requirements
  3. aiding personal growth, develop social skills and improve self-confidence

3. Reviewing: monitoring the progress and recommending specific tests, if required, to measure improvement.

With the combined efforts of SEN members, mainstream teachers and parents, we ensure that pupils achieve their full potential, follow a holistic progression path and make seamless headway throughout their years of schooling.
