IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year pre-university course of study which is regarded worldwide as a quality benchmark in international education.

This course offers a wide range of disciplines that aim to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills.

Through this programme, we encourage pupils to have an exceptional breadth and depth of knowledge and flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.

The Pupils of the IB Diploma Programme choose one subject each from the six subject groups – 3 HL (higher level) & 3 SL (standard level):

  • Group 1 – Studies in language and literature
  • Group 2 – Language acquisition
  • Group 3 – Individuals and societies
  • Group 4 – Sciences
  • Group 5 – Mathematics
  • Group 6 – Arts

In addition to the six subject groups, the Diploma Programme comprises three core elements – Theory of knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay & CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service).

These elements have distinctive roles and probe the pupil to:

  • reflect on the nature of knowledge through thoughtful and purposeful inquiry into different ways of acquiring knowledge.
  • be aware of themselves as thinkers, encouraging them to become more acquainted with the complexity of knowledge.
  • develop the capacity to research and analyse, synthesise and evaluate knowledge from a large quantity of information from various sources.
  • involve in a range of activities, like sports, voluntary work, forms of arts et al., alongside academic studies to enhance their personal and interpersonal development
